Wedding Tips Every Bride Needs to Know
There are wedding tips every bride needs to know. Yes! Planning a wedding is exciting and of course, it can be stressful and energy draining. Most times things you plan for may end up not turning out the way they ought to.
So, instead of focusing on total planning perfection, why not pick a few essential aspects? When you look back on your big day, you will always smile at the wise decisions you made. Let’s divide these tips into two. Wedding tips before your wedding and wedding tips on your wedding day.
Wedding Tips before your Wedding
1. Your Skincare is Essential
Have you always wondered why people say the “glowing bride”? Let me answer that for you. Brides pay attention to their skin so they can glow on their big day. Another question you may want to ask is; how do they achieve this?
I will say you observe a skincare home routine twice a day; morning and night a month to your wedding. You will need to do a lot of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing.
- cleanse your face twice daily if you have an oily face and only once a day if you have dry skin.
- You should use the toner after cleansing your skin.
- cream-based moisturizers are recommended for those with dry skin while gel-based moisturizers for those with oily skin.
Note: Research your skin type and suitable products for your skin before trying anything. If need be, consult a dermatologist to be on the safe side. Don’t try certain DIY routines like applying lemon juice, sugar, baking soda, and the likes. You wouldn’t want to damage your skin a few weeks before your wedding.
2. Pre-wedding Makeup and Hairstyle Test
Except you fully trust your hired makeup artist and hairstylist then ignore this tip. Some time ago, an awful bridal makeup trended in Nigeria. You wouldn’t want to imagine yourself in her shoes. How will you correct this error if it happens to you?

Don’t bother thinking about an answer, just inform your makeup artist and hairstylist of your decision to have a pre-wedding test before your big day.
3. Get your Manicure and Pedicure Done
Remember that your fingers will be among the most observed part of your body. Why? The ring will sit on one of them. Most people will look closely to see the wedding ring while others will make it a duty to take pictures of it.
You wouldn’t want your nails to be caught unappealing to the eyes. When they see your nails they should say “wow”! and then another “wow”! for your wedding ring.
The nails should be fixed firmly so it doesn’t come off before or during your wedding. In fact, it should last longer than a week after your wedding.
4. Wedding Reharsal
Fix a convenient day and time for your wedding rehearsal for everyone. The wedding officials, the bridal train, your parents, and parents-to-be. Everyone will play his/her part well on the big day.
5. Rest before your Wedding
This shouldn’t be overlooked! Remember that you have been planning hence, your body is fatigued, and rest is needed. You wouldn’t want to break down during your wedding or after it. If you have an event planner that means you will have enough resting time. If you don’t, at least take your wedding eve off to relax.
Sleep well. Take warm milk or sleeping pills or anything that you think can make you sleep. You must be energetic on your big day. It is a long day.
Wedding Tips on your Wedding Day
- Eat!: Most brides forget to have breakfast and they will end up not eating throughout the day. If you can’t have breakfast, the liquid should be your substitute. Have water or fresh fruit juice. Remember to tell your caterer to pack food for you and your husband. The reason is that you’ll get very hungry after the celebration.
- Arrange all your Accessories on the bed: It will be easier for you if you arrange all of your bridal accessories on the bed or the table. You wouldn’t want to waste time looking for an item.
- Designate Tasks: Once you step out of your room, you won’t have time to do certain things yourself. The way out of this is to designate simple tasks to any reliable relative or your maids of honor.
- Pictures: You have invested a lot of time, money, and energy to make your big day memorable. Get ready to corporate with your photographer to have beautiful wedding pictures. Be intentional, pick wonderful backgrounds, and smile! Tell your photographer to also take unaware pictures of you and your groom.
- Be Relaxed: It’s your big day, don’t allow anything to spoil that for you. Focus on your partner. Don’t mind anything that is out of the plan because everything can’t go as planned.
- Make a List: Make a list of what you need to take back with you after the party. Most brides only make a list of what to take to the event but not a list of what to return.
